Elsa and my daily schedule usually goes somewhat like this: Daddy gives Elsa and me kisses and leaves for work before 7am. If I am able to fall back asleep, we generally sleep in till 8:30. Yes… that’s 8:30 AM. Then Elsa usually wants to sit up and play for a while. She plays until she is hungry. After she eats, she usually takes her afternoon nap. This is when I frantically jump in the shower, get ready, pick up, and do some laundry. I sometimes grab a cup of coffee. Elsa wakes up, because she somehow senses that I have been out of the room. I run back to her and comfort her so she does not think she has been abandoned. Then she usually wants to play or sit up. I play with her and give her some tummy time. She then usually falls asleep on me, tuckered out from playing. I then try to drink a little of my coffee and do some homework. Coffee is cold… So I usually warm it up. I have this tasty pumpkin spice creamer I am not about to pour down the drain. Then I am usually sidetracked by a project that I have been meaning to do, like going through Elsa’s clothes, because she has grown out of a lot of things already. I have everything strewn out all over the bed. Elsa wakes up. So I usually sit in the rocker with her and feed her. I try to finish my coffee. It’s cold, again. Teddy generally calls me when he gets off work around 2, Elsa always smiles the second she hears his voice on the phone. Then Teddy gets home. My unfinished project is all over the place, Elsa is smiling like crazy, and I am starving, because I suddenly realize that I haven’t eaten. So I usually hand over the smiling baby to her Daddy, throw the stuff off the bed, and eat like a half starved gremlin.
My day might not seem very fun. But I love it. I get to stay home with my beautiful baby girl and I enjoy every minute of it. I get this precious time to watch her grow!
Speaking of growing, Elsa has been doing quite a lot of this lately. She now weighs almost twelve pounds, quite a jump from a little under eight! She holds her little head up and wants to stay awake more during the day to play. Elsa first started smiling at her Daddy, which I’m not going to lie, made me a teeny bit jealous. I tried so hard all throughout the day to make her smile at me, only to watch her give her Daddy a gummy grin when he came home from work. I guess that it was for the best. I am sure Teddy loves the adorable grin she gives him when he comes home from a long day at work. Later she started giving me smiley faces too, to my utter delight. They just melt my heart. Elsa also has an adorable “sad face” that she has recently started to use to her advantage. She sticks her bottom lip out, tears up her eyes, and lets out a pitiful “wail.” I can’t help it, her face is so adorable.
Some of Elsa’s favorite things so far: Being carried in her baby carriers J (This is also one of MY favorite things), laughing at Daddy’s funny faces, listening to music even if it is Mommy whistling to her, feeling Daddy’s beard with her hands and feet, going on walks with Mommy and Daddy, making faces, bath time, her swing from Great Grandma Judy, and watching Castle with Mommy!
Some of Elsa’s least favorite things: Hats, the sunlight… still, when Mommy tries to try adorable baby clothes on her, also when Mommy tries to take too many pictures of her, and when her hooded towel covers her eyes.
It is crazy to see Elsa growing so quickly. She has quite a personality already and it is amazing! I love my little girl, she just lights up our lives!
