Elsa is THREE MONTHS OLD today!
I cannot believe it has been three whole months since she was born. The other day, I happened upon some pictures that were taken of her when she was first born and it is so amazing how much she has grown and changed! Elsa is quite the little chunk now. She enjoys interacting with everyone a lot more than before. She always wants to look around and see what is going on.
I recently won an Ergo Baby Carrier on a Twitter party. Yes… I attend many twitter parties. I actually really think they are fun. Well anyway, I won a carrier and I am so excited to try it out with Elsa. She is very ready to face forward and look around while I carry her. But the carriers that I have now don’t really allow her to do that properly. So I have been running to the front door like a crazy dog *minus the barking* whenever I see the UPS truck drive by every day. I will definitely be posting a lot about the Ergo baby carrier as soon as it arrives!
Elsa has been growing so fast… I swear when I pick her up out of bed in the mornings she’s gained weight or grown longer. She has cutesy, peach fuzz hair growing thicker on the top of her head. And she is getting more social every day. Elsa recently has wanted to “stand up” and stretch her legs out a lot (while being supported of course). This has me just a teensy bit worried that she will end up walking before crawling like I did. She is so strong! During her tummy time each day she has been propping herself up so well. Elsa really enjoys playing on her blanket now with her stuffed animal friends. She is especially fond of her little giraffe that sings. She will sit for a while and listen to it. Just the other night she reached out and batted at her other giraffe, Patches! I was so proud!
Teddy and I have been learning a lot. Elsa is such a great baby to start out with… she is so easy going! I have learned to take really fast showers. I have also gotten quite well at cleaning up and doing necessary stuff while she takes her afternoon nap. I have also learned that sometimes things can wait… because nothing is better than sweet baby cuddles when it’s cold and dreary outside! Elsa has learned that diaper changes are not the most awful things in the world. And she has discovered how fascinating a ceiling fan can be. Elsa has now also quickly learned how to use her “sad face” to her advantage. For example, when she does not want to be put down, when she would like attention, or when she is not quite sure she is happy with the person who is holding her at the moment. Teddy has learned that when he comes home from work Elsa expects him to hold her immediately. We have learned that Elsa is hot blooded like her daddy. Not her mommy of course… because while Teddy and Elsa are sweating, I’m freezing my tail off. It’s cold outside! But both Teddy and Elsa are perfectly content and happy by the fan. We have also discovered that Elsa is a MORNING PERSON! You can only guess what that means to two night owls like us… Or to just one night owl, because Teddy usually sleeps through the morning playtime on the weekends. I think he is deaf sometimes…
Elsa’s favorite things so far: Taking naps with mommy, ceiling fans, the color red, her singing giraffe, Daddy making faces at her, whistles, watching Castle, bath time, being awake all the time… and CHEWING everything!
Elsa’s not favorite things: when mommy goes to her night class for a few hours (ultimately abandoning her of course), being too hot (which is all the time…), her adorable headbands (of course), and the vacuum! (She clawed me to death like a cat when she heard it turn on!)
